Why Dr. Michael Savage almost made me Kill Myself
You've heard of him; Michael Savage; Conservative Radio Personality. Big Fan; at least I was until today. I heard him on the way driving home; listening as I always do; when he started reading the review on his new book;"Trickle Down Poverty".
What almost caused me to go down that dark road was this statement(paraphrased)"People look to the Rich and powerful; not the Poor. Of course they do! People always go to the Rich; not the Poor and Stupid".
I was a successful Manager of a National Auto Parts chain; my wife a College graduate. My wife became very sick and is now on disability. The Company came in and closed our store;along with 1000 others in one day.
We are making 80% less than we were. We have the same bills; the cost of living going up everyday. There are times I am so depressed that I've thought about just cashing in the chips. No more pain. But I don't; my wife would be destroyed; along with my family. So I fight on; hoping it will get better.
But I know the odds in this economy. And then my Conservative Hero say's this. Guess what Dr Savage; my wife and I are now the "Poor and Stupid" Except we're not.
When I heard this;I pointed my car and the nearest tree and gunned it. This IS all I am; Poor;Stupid; a waste of space. But then I hit the brakes. Who does this man think he is; saying this about someone he doesn't even know.
So to Hell with you Michael Savage; to you and the others who seem to know better. But I will thank you for one thing:Nothing!
